Hunting Update

Yesterday, when our hunter was waiting for deer, he was harassed by squirrels, who ran up and down the trees, throwing acorns and scolding. The deer didn't come to play, so he went for squirrel. After an hour of sitting in the spot they had before claimed, he only saw two, just out of range for his puny pellet rifle. How do they know? Does a hunter have to go packing two different rifles? This morning is thick fog. I think there is a hunter out there now. I don't know how he will know what is in the woods, but I bet the animals do. I am a neutral game watcher. I love venison, but I love the deer. I remember liking squirrel, though it has been years since I've eaten it, but I raised one, Munchy. After having a cute, destructive, mischievous pet for years, I took her to a park full of squirrels, where hunting was not allowed, and released her so she could be what she was meant to be..a provider of food.

Too funny. I have not eaten squirrel since we raised Romeo and Juliet. I don’t think even Vince had the heart to kill one after playing with them and loving them so much. I too let Romeo go in a park where no hunting is allowed. It was a hard decision, and was based on love for him. I missed him so much. I learned squirrels bark, purr, and are more lovable then anyone could imagine. Thanks for the update. Hugs, Loni

That is sweet. I love squirrels in the trees.....not on my plate. Go kill a big deer and make the life worth some meals. One squirrel life is not enough for even one meal. I feel the same way about Dove. One Dove life is like one bite, just not worth it. I love critters.
